Welcome to Himiko no Sekkai.

I'm Himiko and this is my world... or at least a part of it.

So I hear you ask 'who is this Himiko then'? Well, that would be me. I know, if you're not a friend or neighbour you'll need some more trivia. So here it is.

I'm the daughter of a master tailor and an antiques dealer. No doubt that explains my passion for all things handmade (especially the stuff that needs yarn in some form or other) and all things old and beautiful.

As a mum to two litlle beautiful girls I spend my every day at home caring for the pair of them. Maxi girl turned five over the summer, mini girl will turn three during the autumn.

I'm also married to a husband -hi there husband!- who's into all things computer. Now that comes in handy as technology and me have never been a  great combo. My lack of patience comes in to play where machinery is concerned. But no worries, the husband comes to the rescue.... to save the machinery that is but that's just a small detail.

Further I'm the organiser of a household in the semi countryside -our village has city ambitions- where we harvest fruit from our small bunch of fruit trees and where we have custody of Clara and Olivia, our brand new chickens.

And what's with the blog?

Well, it's meant as a space to log all those handmade things before they become an entangled mess in my head.

It would also be lovely to create a space where others can find the inspiration and motivation that I have found around the web. So you'll see the things I work on make their appearance around here. If you feel like commenting on them or if you would like some more info or have questions you'd like answered, you are welcome to use the 'comments' option or to send a mail. I'd love to hear from you all and will take care to answer your queries.

So that's about it. In short. I think we'd better get on with it now!

Curious what time will bring? Well if it's any comfort, you're not alone with that. Curious is also what Isobel and Mabel -my two felt workshop bunnies- are. Then again, they're extremely compliant and out to please their creator ... being felt and all that.

Anyhow, I'll be off to work a bit so that I actually have something to show.
